Experienced guides escort riders twice daily along the 13km circular route that takes about two hours to complete. The trail leads through beautiful fynbos coastal vegetation, towards the Gamtoos river with breathtaking views from the dunes and finally returning along a 6 km stretch of deserted beach where riders can have an exhilarating gallop on the sand.
The guides escort every group and assist riders in selecting horses just right for their respective capabilities. This outride is ideal for intermediate and advanced riders, though in quiet times, we also accommodate first timers and beginners. Experienced riders can choose not to go with a guide and have the freedom to explore the valley at their own pace.

Papiesfontein Beach Horse Rides
What a beautiful place to ride, the dunes are spectacular ! I asked for a Beginner ride and the horse I was given was very suitable. The guide that rode with me was exceptional in his support and advice. Cassandra herself is just lovely! Add to that mix some beautiful dogs and cats and Papiesfontein is an awesome place! - Alice
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our horse-riding experience. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the scenery was stunning! Highly recommended. - Sharon
The beach horse trail was such a beautiful experience! I came to visit my dad, who lives in Jbay, and we have always wanted to do the horse trail at Papiesfontein. We chose the beginners ride as my dad had a shoulder operation and needed a gentle horse, which our horses were. The staff are friendly, accommodating and very experienced. We felt comfortable and, led by Giant, were in excellent hands. He checked on us often and took photos and a video of our ride on the beach. The whole experience from the beautiful horses to the scenery and views was very special. Thank you! - Dale
An amazing experience, staff were very helpful and patent, beautiful horses and stunning scenery - Leighton
This was the best experience ever for me and family to ride the horses on the beach and the dunes. Will do it again when visiting Jeffreys Bay in the future. Thx very much - Werner
